The TDP Major Update
The South Florida Regional Transportation Authority’s (SFRTA) mission is to provide greater mobility in South Florida, thus improving the economic viability and the quality of the Community, Region and State. SFRTA operates the Tri-Rail Commuter Rail System. SFRTA, per its legislation, is charged with the responsibility of having the overall authority to coordinate, develop and operate a regional transportation system within the area served.
2018/19 Major Update
The SFRTA seeks to work with partners in both the public sector and private sector to provide improved transit, along with its associated economic development benefits, to the region in the coming years. The FY 2019–2028 Transit Development Plan (TDP) for SFRTA serves as the strategic guide for public transportation for the agency over the next 10 years. This TDP, referred to as SFRTA: Building Stronger Connections (SFRTA Connections), documents the investments that SFRTA is committed to making over the next five years, as well as its vision for additional priorities and improvements through FY 2028.
Building Stronger Connections
For a transit system to evolve, it must expand and connect with others. SFRTA has chosen to embark on the task of building new connections and strengthening those already in place, and for that reason the theme of this major update is "Building Stronger Connections".
